New Deputy Mayors introduced for Kabul Municipality

KABUL: Newly-appointed deputy mayors for social services and public awareness and planning assumed their charged after being introduced to Kabul Municipality.

The two newly-appointed deputy mayors are Mohammad Fazil Sharifi, deputy mayor for social services and public awareness and Dr. Sadruddin Tajik, deputy mayor for planning.

Mr. Sharifi has previously served as director of policy and plan in institute of Farsi literary, Editor-in-Chief of Khurasan magazine, member of the Academy of Sciences of Afghanistan, Chief of Staff and Senior Adviser in the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, deputy commissioner in research and policy section of Independent Election Commission, Independent Human Rights Commission, and some other organizations besides having cultural, social, and media activities.

He has a Master’s degree in Farsi literature and is currently a PhD student in Kabul University.

Dr. Sadruddin Tajik has obtained his Master’s degree in the field of engineering from the University of Engineering in Tehran.

He has previously served as lecturer in engineering and urban development of Kabul University, Director of engineering department in Kateb University, adviser in the ministry of urban developing and housing, and chief executive of senior presidential adviser.

This comes as Kabul Municipality was being administered by caretakers before the appointment of Ahmad Zaki Sarfaraz as new mayor of Kabul few weeks earlier. (Khaama Press)
