NPC okays 18 contracts worth 3.59b Afghanis

KABUL (Agencies): The National Procurement Commission (NPC) with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair approved 18 contracts including chromite mine at the presidential palace, news agency reported.

At the meeting of the National Procurement Commission, up to 19 contracts have been investigated among which 18 contracts worth 3.59 billion Afghanis have been approved.

The meeting asked the ministry of transport to soon kick off the roadbuilding project in the northern Balkh province, after a report was shared by the ministry’s sent team to the area.

The report about the status of the six contracts relating to the chromite mine has also been shared at the NPC meeting and the ministry of mines and petroleum has fully been authorized to inclusively talk with the contracting companies and take needed decision.

A contract relating to the 215-army corps has also been approved in the meeting which discussed the issues about the implementation of the last agendas approved earlier. Apart from the members of the NPC, the Afghanistan Transparency Watch, SIGAR and other related organs’ representatives have also attended the meeting.
