One killed, five injured in Indian firing across LoC

ISLAMABAD: Indian forces continued the violation and shelled the border villages on the Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Monday morning in which one person died and five other injured including a woman and her son.

DC Haveli, Chaudhry Kashif Hussain, told media outlet that Indian forces started resorted at about 6am in Nezapir and Digwar areas using both heavy and small weapons.

Hussain confirmed that 70 years old man identified as Muhammad Deen died because of Indian troops firing and his 25 old son Muhammad Jameel was injured in Digwar area.

The injured were identified as Tasneem Bibi, her 12-year-old son Aqib, and Muhammad Javed, 35, were also injured, DC added.

One Wali Mohammad was injured in the village Keirni in Nezapir sector.

DC Hussain said that soon after the beginning of shelling he had ordered the closure of all education institutions in vulnerable areas to avert any casualties of students and teachers.
