Pakistan, Palestine, and UNO

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that Pakistan would send COVID-19 and medical emergency relief assistance to Palestine on humanitarian grounds to lessen sufferings of innocent people of Palestine. According to him, the Cabinet thoroughly discussed the prevailing situation in Palestine and expressed deep concern and resentment over the plight of Palestinians. He said Foreign Minister SM Qureshi is actively working to cool down the situation and to end the suffering of oppressed Palestinian Muslims. Currently, SM Qureshi is planned to join a group of foreign ministers of different Islamic countries including Turkey, Sudan, and Palestine heading to New York to attend the special session of United Nations General Assembly on Palestine. Fawad noted that Pakistan was the first country that took a strong, clear, and unflinching stance on Palestine crisis.
Pakistan and several other Muslim Countries are struggling hard to end miseries of the people of Palestine over the last two weeks. OIC, the representative of Muslim Ummah had convened a ministerial level meeting on Palestinian crisis and issued a strong demarche by calling an immediate pause in Israeli war crimes against innocent Palestinians. However, Israel continue its aggression against Palestinians and caused severe loss of lives and properties during past two weeks. UN Security Council proved to be an ineffective and biased forum and remained failed to issue a statement against Israeli blatant aggression against unarmed Palestinians during its recent sessions. The Muslim Countries need to display unity at world forum and try to raise a forceful voice in support of Palestinian people. There must a decisive assertion by the Muslim envoys that over the seven decades UNO failed to resolve longstanding issues of Muslim Ummah including Palestine and Kashmir. It must be asserted that UNO essentially prove its worth otherwise 1.5 billion Muslims of the world would have no belief in UNO anymore and they would be compel to seek alternative of this world body which proved to be a servant of only powerful countries of the world.
