Pakistan Stock Exchange stays bullish

ISLAMABAD (APP): The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) stayed bullish on Friday, gaining 28.60 points, with a positive change of 0.07 percent, closing at 42,551.15 points against 42,522.55 points on the last working day.
A total of 161,935,190 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 149,788,966 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs4.146 billion against Rs5.640 billion on last trading day.
As many as 320 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 162 of them recorded gain and 130 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 28 companies remained unchanged.
The three top trading companies were WorldCall Telecom with a volume of 22,173,500 shares and price per share of Rs1.56, Dost Steels Ltd with a volume of 9,828,000 and price per share of Rs4.63 and Cnergyico Pk with volume of 9,406,818 and price per share of Rs5.25.
Mehmood Tex witnessed a maximum increase of Rs61.15 per share, closing at Rs879 whereas the runner up was Sapphire Tex, the share prices of which climbed up by Rs48.96 to Rs1038.95.
Sapphire Fiber witnessed maximum decrease of Rs72.67 closing at Rs896.32 followed by Rafhan Maize, the share price of which declined by Rs57 to close at Rs11,633.
Rupee slides against dollar
Exchange rate of Pakistan rupee weakened by 05 paisas against the United States dollar in the interbank trading on Friday and closed at Rs181.78 against the previous day’s closing of Rs181.73.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs181.7 and Rs183 respectively.
Similarly, the price of the euro was appreciated by 04 paisas and closed at Rs200.47 against the previous day’s closing of Rs199.43.
The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.49, whereas an increase of 36 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs239.89 as compared to its last closing of Rs239.53.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 02 paisas to close at Rs49.49 and Rs48.46 respectively.
Gold prices fall by Rs50 to Rs131,450 per tola
The price of 24 karat per tola gold witnessed a decrease of Rs50 and was sold at Rs131,450 on Friday against its sale at Rs131,500 in the local market the previous day.
The price of 10 gram 24 karat gold also declined by Rs43 to Rs112,697 from Rs112,740 whereas that of 10 gram 22 karat went down to Rs103,305 from Rs103,345, All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.
The price of per tola and ten gram silver remained constant at Rs1510 and Rs1294.58 respectively.
The price of gold in international market decreased by $1 and was traded at US$ 1955 against its sale at US$ 1956, the association reported.
