Pakistan Taekwondo players haul medals in UAE

KARACHI (PPI): Pakistan Taekwondo players, who hauled nine medals in Al-Fajeera Open International Taekwondo Championship held in UAE, have reached home on Tuesday.

Ayesha Ayaz, a nine-year-old player, has won a gold medal. Pakistan players also won five silver and three bronze medals. Meanwhile Ayesha Anwar, Fatima Khawar, Seenan Ashfaq, Muhammad Danish and Muhammad Murtaza Abbas won the silver medals and Malaika Nayyab, Anushy Aleem and Muhammad Abdul Abbas won bronze medals.

Players hailing from 32 countries participated in the championship. Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Fahmida Mirza and Pakistan Taekwondo Federation’s President Waseem Ahmed Janjua congratulated players on their tremendous performance in international championship. Dr. Fahmida Mirza vowed that the government will support the talented players in the country. Waseem Ahmed added that Pakistan will host international Taekwondo G1 and Safe Taekwondo Championship later this year.
