Pakistan witnesses huge increase in gold prices

ISLAMABAD: Though the price of yellow metal decreased in the international market on Friday, the Pakistani gold market witnessed a heavy increase of Rs15,000 per tola in the last four days.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, on Friday, the prices of the 24 karats of pure gold in the Pakistani gold market jumped high by Rs1,800 per tola to Rs2,22,900 per tola.

The price of 10 grams of the 24 karats of pure gold increased by Rs1,542 and was traded at Rs1,91,100 per 10 grams in the Pakistani market.

Rates of the gold of 22 karats that is usually used for making jewellery in Pakistan were also increased and traded at Rs1,75,176 per 10 grams.

The rates of gold in the international market decreased by US$12 per ounce to US$1,966 per ounce on Friday.

The price of pure silver of 24 karats also observed a decrease of Rs150 per tola to Rs2,750 per tola.

The price of 10 grams of pure silver of 24 karats was decreased by Rs128.6 and traded at Rs2,357.68 per 10 grams in the local market.
