Petition filed against President in Apex court

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: An application was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against President Dr Arif Alvi to stop him from working and remove him from office on Saturday. The petition against the President was filed by a citizen, Ghulam Murtaza Khan, under Clause 3 of Article 184 of the Constitution.

The President and the Ministry of Law have been made parties to the petition. In the petition, it has been stated that President Alvi misused his powers, which made a mockery of the position of the President of the country. The President belongs to the entire nation and not just a political party. Arif Alvi is not acting as a President of Pakistan, rather he is working as a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

The petition says that the President has failed to perform his constitutional responsibilities. In April 2022, he unconstitutionally dissolved the National Assembly. He did not ensure compliance with the Constitution under Article 5 of the Constitution.

The President has committed so many illegal things including one by not giving election date. He is not fit to hold the office of the President. In the petition, it has been requested that Arif Alvi should be stopped from working as President and action should be taken against him for violating the constitution and law.
