Police obtains bribe in flour’s transportation

PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) and district administration to remove hurdles in transportation of flour from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while ordered to submit progress report on next hearing, on Monday.

During hearing Flour Dealers Association counsel Ibrar-ul-Haq advocate argued that the petitioners are facing several problems during transportation from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including police obtaining bribe at several check-posts on the route.

The counsel added that the dealers are also facing problems in provision of subsidized flour in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including provincial metropolis Peshawar.

The divisional bench comprising of Chief Justice PHC Justice Qaiser Rashid and Justice Ijaz Anwar ordered district administration and police to sit with flour’s dealers as well as with bread-maker association for taking concrete steps in this regard.

The divisional bench ordered IGP and district administration to submit progress report before 3rd May while adjourned further hearing.
