US intelligence officials had accused a conservative financial news website with a significant American readership of amplifying Kremlin propaganda and alleged five other media outlets targeting Ukrainians as per the direction of Russian spies. According to Intelligence Officials, the Zero Hedge, an online news platform run by a Bulgaria-born US banker has 1.2 million Twitter followers, publishes articles created by Moscow-controlled media, and people unaware of its nexus to Russian intelligence believe in its literature. Although, US intelligence officials did not accuse Zero Hedge of its affiliation with Russian Intelligence but indirectly tried to harass the news outlet in a bid to prevent the dissemination of the Russian perspective. According to accusations, Zero Hedge published the articles written by people affiliated with the Strategic Culture Foundation, a Russian organization having close ties with the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR). Zero Hedge denied the allegations and said it tries to publish a wide spectrum of views that cover both sides of a given story. Similarly, US officials also accused several Ukraine-based media outlets including News Front, Polit Navigator, Antifashist, Odna Rodyna, and Fondsk of having nexus with the Russian Federal Intelligence agency, FSB. According to Intelligence sources, these sites enable the Russian government to secure support among the Ukrainian population regarding its impending invasion of Ukraine.
Latest technologies had made the world a global village due to the fast and unhindered flow of communication across the world, while media has become a powerful tool for the dissemination of raw information and unauthentic news in the garb of anonymity. Although western nations are strong supporters of freedom of media in other countries, even then they had coined the policies to control state press in the name of professional code and national interest. As for as the ongoing US-Russia hostility is concerned, it completely characterizes the definition of propaganda under which America and allies massively projected their narrative across the globe while Russian state media failed to compete with its adversaries in this domain. Although Zero Hedge claims to cover both sides of a given story yet American Intelligence could not digest the publishing of the whole story. Apparently, the editor of Zero Hedge went too far in search of truth and discussed the ethics and morality of the Pentagon and US Intelligence while referring to their panorama on Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction which led to the destruction of the Iraqi nation in the past. Zero Hedge also raised several continuous issues that hurt Biden’s aides who reacted with a charge-sheet against the media outlet.
US officials previously accused Putin of planning a false-flag operation to create a pretext for a new invasion of Ukraine and now they have uncovered the Russian propaganda. In fact, America has made a hill out of clay, otherwise, a single channel can’t undermine the US publicity giants including CNN, VOA, Bloomberg, ABC News, and many others. After touching the climax, Ukraine agreed to disown its bid for NATO while Putin decided to pull back some of his troops from Ukrainian borders, which had provided Putin an opportunity to achieve his objective without a contest.
