Karachi: Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani have said that an open and shut case has surfaced against Haleem Adil Sheikh, his brother Azeem Adil Sheikh and others, after which no further investigation is required.
They added that National Accountibility Bureau (NAB) has mentioned in its seven page document that 164 acres of land was ocupied , which later increased to 253 acres in district Malir and illegal commercial activities were started by establishing farm houses and palm villages.
The Provincial Ministers demanded from NAB to arrest Haleem Adil Sheikh and other accused, if they not arrested then the role of NAB would become clear.
The Provincial Ministers expressed these views while addressing a joint press conference in Sindh Assembly committee room here Thursday. Information Secretary Eijaz Hussain Baloch was also present on the occasion.
The provincial ministers said that a letter from NAB Karachi related to opposition leader Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has come to light, it is a proven case, there is no need for further investigation.
They were of opinion that NAB’s standards were different for Pakistan Peoples Party and other opposition parties and immediate arrests of elected members of assembly were made by NAB on mere simple allegations, while cases of ruling PTI were being dumped in files and NAB couldn’t dare to touch the responsibles of BRT Peshawar, Malam Jaba, sugar , medicine and wheat scandals .’ Syed Khurshid Shah has been in jail for last two years.
His son Syed Farrukh Shah has recently been arrested. Ejaz Jakhrani’s house was raided and his family was being harassed ? ‘ the ministers recalled and added that they strongly condemned the raid on the house of Aijaz Jakhrani .
They termed it as a big test for NAB and added that whether NAB would put the names of Haleem Adil Sheikh, his brother and relatives involved on exist control list (ECL) or not.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani said that it seems that efforts were being made to rescue Haleem Adil Sheikh and others as NAB Karachi has sent letter Islamabad. whereas NAB letter clearly mentioned that according to the records, the allegations against Haleem Adil Sheikh and others were true. ‘ That’s why they called it NAB -Niazi nexus, ‘ the ministers added.
On the occasion , Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah rejected the various allegations of PTI leveled against Sindh government regarding budget session and added that the Speaker Sindh Assembly has convened a meeting before the budget session, which was attended by parliamentary leaders of various parties.The opposition’s recommendations were accepted, but later at night the opposition conveyed a message to the speaker for disagreement what has been agreed in the morning.Then everyone saw the attitude of the opposition in the budget session. The Minister appreciated the role of GDA members who condemned the rioting at the gate and bringing a folded chorpoy in the House.
The provincial information minister said that n MQM Pakistan was tried to intrupt the proceedings of House during the speeches of treasury benches members by making loud noises which dipicted their seriousness in budget .
Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that no assembly member was barred to enter in the assembly. On second day , police has surely stopped irrelevant persons who came with bands and were stopped by the police.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that despite the cut in federal transfers, the Chief Minister Sindh and his team have prepared a very appropriate budget. In last fiscal year more than 80 billion cut was made in federal transfers. He said that when they talked about the share and rights of sindh province , we were accused of playing Sindh card. He added that they raised voices for Pakistan card as Sindh was part of Pakistan. Sindh Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah asked federal government to cut in share of Sindh.
Provincial Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani said the MQM had called for a protest on July 3 and added peace has been established in the city today and they will maintain it.No one will be allowed to distrub the peaceful atmosphere of the city in the guise of protest. He said that peaceful protest was everyone’s right. But we will not allow hatred to spread under the guise of protest.He said that if there was peace in Karachi then MQM Pakistan could not win from the city. They now wanted Urdu speakers to fight with Sindhis. Saeed Ghani said that MQM Pakistan was Altaf Hussain of present day and following the politics of hatred. “I urge conscious Urdu-speaking citizens to reject the politics of hatred and expose their true face,” he said.
Saeed Ghani also urged other political parties and organizations to reject this politics of MQM.
Replying to a question, Saeed Ghani said that the MQM delegation has been trying to spread hatered on the basis Bahria Town incident.He said that Bahria Town tragedy was not sudden happening but it was a pre-planned incident.
