PTI’s Ali Zaidi remanded into police custody in ‘Fraud Case’

F.P. Report

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh president Ali Haider Zaidi has been handed over to police on a three-day remand in a ‘fraud’ case, on Monday.

Ali Haider Zaidi was arrested, last week, after a case was registered against him at Ibrahim Hyderi police station on charges of ‘fraud’.

The PTI Sindh chapter president was brought to the court from Gadap police station in an armored vehicle. A large number of PTI workers reached the Malir court to show solidarity with the former federal minister.

During today’s hearing, Ali Zaidi’s counsel pleaded with the court to quash the case against his client as on the dates on which the money transactions were carried out, Ali Zaidi was not in Pakistan.

However, the police opposed the plea and pleaded with the court for physical remand to further investigate the case.

Malir court after rejecting the plea of dismissing the court handed over Ali Zaidi to police on a three-day remand.
