QWP opposes early election in country

CHARSADDA: Chairman Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has rejected the call for snap-polls, saying that the PTI untimely demand is illogical.

He was addressing a public meeting at after an inauguration of the Sui Gas project in the He was addressing a public meeting at Kot Tarnab district Charsadda. Earlier Mr. Sherpao inaugurated the supply line of Sui Gas project in the area. The project would benefit the local Population at large.

Sherpao added that in case of mid-term election KP would be deprived of additional three seats in National Assembly as the amendment for this purpose would not be possible. Therefore, those favoring, he continued, early election wanted to shrink the representation of KP in National assembly. The campaign for snap-polls exposed such elements who were hell-bent to snatch three seats from KP, one each from Baluchistan and Islamabad, he added.

He termed the nomination of five- member parliamentary committee as a good omen which would oversee the proposed amendment in the Constitution about the enhancement of five seats in National assembly.

However, he said that the matter should not be further delayed. He said that all the all the stake holders should honor the apex court’s recent verdict. He said that nobody should be jubilant over the disqualification of a politician. He asked that all political parties should work for the betterment of the country. He said that good ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan are of vital in the regional peace and stability. He contended that concerted efforts were required to end the turmoil in the region.

“QWP would not sit by idle and would continue to raise its voice for the welfare of Pakhtuns rights, he added”. He said that Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) always fulfilled its election promises. He said that the party has been working for the welfare of the masses and it would leave no stone unturned in this regard.
