HERAT (Agencies): A religious scholar was shot dead by Taliban affiliates in Herat.
The religious scholar was targeted late Monday night inside a mosque in Qados region, Kohsan District.
JelaniFarhad spokesman for Herat governor in a contact with reporters confirmed the event.
The attackers have fled and efforts are underway to trace and detain them, he added.
Taliban have not said anything so far.
