Renewed demand of fresh polls

Talking to media in Multan, JUI (F) Central Amir Maulana Fazalu Rehman renewed his demand of snap polls and rejected holding of elections for the local bodies. He said that guarantors who set January as the last month of tenure of PTI government for ending JUI sit-in in Islamabad should fulfill their promise otherwise he will reveal their names. He urged opposition parties to play their role in forcing fresh elections.

It appears that not only the towering political figures that were rejected by the electorate in 2018 polls are desperate in creating instability in the country but main opposition parties including PML-N and PPP have become impatient and are not inclined to cooperate with the government to complete its mandated tenure. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had asked MQM to part ways with POTI and join provincial government of Sindh. Now a delegation of PML-N led by former Prime Minister ShahidKhaqanAbbasi has met with MQM leaders in Karachi. ANP leadership is holding their so called Pukhtun Jirga. Invitation has been given to Aftab Ahmad Sherpao Chairman QaumiWattan Party for participation.

In the prevailing regional situation Pakistan needs political stability and attempts of changing government at this point of time reflects oblivious attitude on the part of opposition. Completion of tenures by sitting governments is also essential for realising the goal of functional democracy in the country.
