Reservations of coalition partner: Akhtar Mengal to meet PM Imran Khan today

ISLAMABAD: Former Chief Minister of Balochistan and Chief of Balochistan National Party (BNP), Akhtar Mengal will hold discussion with Prime Minister Imran Khan and showing his reservations over several issues as a coalition partner of the ruling ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Wednesday.

According to reports, the disgruntled leaders of BNP including Akhtar Mengal and Jehanzeb Jamaldini will hold an important meeting with the premier over emerging differences between BNP-M and PTI.

Reports said that six-point charter of demand would be discussed in the meeting between Mengal and PM Imran Khan.

PM Khan would also take Akhtar Mengal into confidence over matter relating to missing persons.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had decided to hold important meetings with the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid, Balochistan Awami Party, Grand Democratic Alliance and Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan, the coalition partners of the ruling political party, it emerged on March 12.

Prior to the forthcoming meeting with Mengal, PM Khan had held meetings with PML-Q’s Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) delegation on March 12.

On August 8, Balochistan National Party – Mengal and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had agreed on a six-point charter of demand to form a political coalition to support PTI candidates for the key positions of prime minister, speaker and deputy speaker of the National Assembly (NA).

According to reports, the six points include implementation of six per cent quota in the federal government for Balochistan, repatriation of Afghan refugees, effectuation of National Action Plan, construction of dams and recovery of missing persons.
