SCCI demands resumption PIA flight operation from Peshawar to Karachi

PESHAWAR: PESHAWAR: Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) expressed concern over closure of PIA flight operation from Peshawar to Karachi and demanded its immediate resumption. Ejaz Khan Afridi, vice president of the SCCI in a statement issued here on Saturday said PIA was not operating single flight from Peshawar to Karachi. He added PIA service was available by business community and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but it has been halted, due to which the community has not only faced difficulties but it has also inflicted huge revenue loss to the national carrier PIA.

The SCCI vice president said the PIA move to halt flight operation from Peshawar to Karachi has created great unrest among the business community and people of the province and demanded immediate resumption of the flight operation from Peshawar to address their grievances. He said the flight operation should be launched both ways from Peshawar to Karachi and Karachi to Peshawar.

He demanded the PIA should operate two flights from Peshawar to Karachi within a week to facilitate the business community and people of the province. Afridi said the resumption of flight operation from Peshawar to Karachi will benefit maximum travelers and it will also help to generate hefty revenue for the national carrier PIA and make it a profitable organization.
