Shaheen Afridi’s impact surpasses Babar Azam: Harsha Bhogle

Monitoring Desk

NEW DELHI: A renowned Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle has professed that fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is more important than captain Babar Azam for Pakistan for ICC World Cup 2023.

Shedding light on his vote for Afridi, Harsha Bhogle said that it was Afridi who took wickets in the opening ten overs in the Asia Cup. If Shaheen could not take wickets, you could imagine what would had happened. He said absence of Naseem Shah is also a gap for the Pakistan.

Harsha Bhogle said Pakistani spinners would have to perform better in the World Cup. Sharing his view point on the Pakistan team performance, said will the Pakistani openers be able to perform a good game and will its spinners be able to bowl well in the middle overs?

The Indian commentator seems not certain about the performance of the Pakistan’s middle order batting and said although Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Iftikhar Ahmed and Saud Shakeel are good cricketers, can you trust them to win the title? We are eagerly waiting to see, if the middle order batsmen do good for their team, it is very better for Pakistan.

He said three spinners in the Pakistan team including Shadab Khan and Muhammad Nawaz are good batters.
