KARACHI: The weather department has predicted hot and humid weather for Islamabad today (Monday); however, there are chances of rain along with strong winds at few places in the city in the evening or at night.
Similarly, weather in most parts of Punjab is likely to remain hot and sultry during the next 24 hours. However, the met office adds, there are chances of rain accompanied by strong winds at few places in the Potohar region, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Khanewal, Multan and Bahawalnagar.
Weather in Karachi is expected to remain hot and humid today (Monday); however downpours have been forecast for the city and entire Sindh from Thursday (September 23 to Saturday (September 25).
The weather department has also expressed the fear of losses, especially to people’s properties, due to strong winds accompanying the heavy rains.
According to the prediction, thunderstorms will lash Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Thattha, Badin, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana in the next couple of days.
Maximum temperature in the port city on early Monday morning was recorded at 29 degrees Celsius while humidity level at 73 per cent.
The met department has further said that north-westerly breeze is blowing across the city at 22 km per hour while sea breeze will pick up in the evening.
Hot and humid weather has been predicted for most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the next 24 hours.
However, there are chances of rain along with strong winds at few places of Dir, Malakand, Swat, Abbotabad, Mansehra, Peshawar, Kohat and Kurram.
The met office has forecast dry and extremely hot weather for most parts of Balochistan, including provincial capital Quetta.
Maximum temperature in Quetta, Zhob and Barkhan on Sunday was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius, it was 43 degrees Celsius at Sibbi, 41 degrees Celsius in Nokundi and Dalbandin and 38 degrees Celsius in Turbat.
Similarly, maximum temperature in Gwadar on Sunday was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius, 32 degrees Celsius at Pasni and Jewni, while 31 degrees Celsius at Ormara.
In Lasbela, it was 39 degrees Celsius on Sunday on maximum side while 34 degrees Celsius in Khuzdar.
It was 26 degrees at Ziarat and 31 at Kalat.
Likewise, rain at few places has been forecast for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
