SNGPL cuts off another 114 meters over gas pilfererage

ISLAMABAD: During the ongoing crackdown against gas pilferers, SNGPL continued raids in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, disconnecting another 144 connections while imposing fine of Rs. 5.9594 Million and 333 under billing cases processed In Lahore, the regional team disconnected 07 connections on illegal use of gas and 04 disconnected on the use of compressor. In Bahawalpur, the regional team disconnected 05 connections on use of compressor and 31 under billing cases processed. Rs0.198 Million booked against underbilling.

In Multan, the company disconnected 15 connections on illegal use of gas, 02 disconnected on the use of compressor and 07 under billing cases processed. Rs0.044 Million booked against underbilling. In Sheikhupura, the regional team disconnected 18 connections on illegal use of gas and 68 under billing cases processed. Rs5,000 fine against gas theft and Rs3.406 Million booked against underbilling. In Peshawar, the company disconnected 51 connections on account of direct use of gas and illegal connections. 01 FIR launched against gas thief. Rs0.60 Million has been booked against gas theft. In Rawalpindi the regional team disconnected 03 gas connections on illegal use of gas. SNGPL’s team in Mardan 06 connections were disconnected on illegal use of gas, 100 under billing cases processed and Rs0.6 Million booked against underbilling.

In Abbottabad, the regional team disconnected 03 connections on illegal use of gas. The regional team in Gujranwala were disconnected 04 meters on the use of compressor and 03 disconnected on illegal use of gas. Rs0.165 Million has been booked against gas theft and Rs0.2728 Million booked against underbilling. In Sialkot, 02 connections were disconnected on the use of compressor. The company disconnected 12 connection on illegal use of gas in Islamabad. In Sahiwal, 03 connections were disconnected on illegal use of gas and 01 connection disconnected on the use of compressor. Rs0.033 Million has been booked against gas.

The regional team in Faisalabad 24 under billing cases processed and 04 disconnected on illegal use of gas and another 01 on the use of compressor. Rs0.586 Million has been booked against gas theft and Rs0.0496 Million booked against underbilling. Further, The UFG task force team raided at plastic bag manufacturing unit located on Charsada Road, Peshawar and caught a gas theft case red-handed.

Consumer was using gas illegally from domestic meter installed in reverse direction and using gas for commercial purposes in the manufacturing of plastic bags. Team disconnected the domestic meter on spot. Meanwhile, Lahore Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, acting on the special instructions of the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Energy and Sui Northern Administration, has received more than 4 crore dues from various defaulting institutions/ departments.
