Strong earthquake hits Indonesian Island, killing three people

JAVA: At least three people were killed after a powerful earthquake hit the Java Island of Indonesia. As per the initial reports several buildings were damaged in the earthquake.

The people ran into street in panic after a strong earthquake hit the Indonesian Island. The Indonesian television showed the videos of the area after the earthquake and it clearly showed that people were running in panic and buildings were damaged in it.

The Indonesian officials, while talking to local media confirmed that at least three persons were killed and fear more of causalities because of powerful earthquake in the area.

Java, Indonesia’s most densely populated island is home to more than half of the country’s 250 million people.

The US Geological Survey said the epicentre of the magnitude-6.5 quake was located at a depth of 57 miles (92km), about 32 miles south-west of Tasikmalaya.
