We want to play fearless cricket and get the momentum: Babar Azam

F.P. Report

KARACHI: Pakistan skipper in all three formats Babar Azam says the team will try its best to play fearless cricket and gain the momentum against South Africa on their home turf.

Pakistan is in South Africa to play three ICC ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League matches from April 2-7 and four T20Is from April 10-16.

“We have practiced well in the South African conditions,” said Azam. “The condition is different as there’s some extra bounce and it would be a bit tough as compared to home conditions but we have also prepared well.”

However, Azam said that his teammates were in confidence and the team would put its best.

“We will try to play fearless cricket with our winning combination and momentum.” Pakistan earlier this year defeated South Africa in Test and T20I series.

He added that momentum was very important and he expects that the top order to give good momentum to the team, which will be very important to finish the game well.

He added that all of the players were fit and one or two changes can be expected.
After playing against South Africa, the side will then depart for Harare, Zimbabwe, for three T20Is and two Tests, before returning home on May 12.
