‘Zero-tolerance policy and issued strict orders to halt the sale of all types of drugs’

KARACHI: Senior Minister of Sindh and Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation, Transport & Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has directed action against drugs under the zero-tolerance policy and issued strict orders to halt the sale of all types of drugs, including crystal, heroin, ice, hashish, and raw liquor immediately.

A high-level meeting of the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Secretary Excise and Taxation Atifur Rehman, DG Excise Aurangzeb Panhwar, Divisional Directors, and others participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the excise department must ensure the collection of taxes in accordance with the instructions and targets set by the Sindh government.

He emphasized the need to operate under a zero-tolerance policy against all types of drugs and highlighted that officers are required to report on their performance on a daily basis. Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the respective directors of the Excise Department should personally visit the field to ensure the attainment of targets. He emphasized that every officer must perform to meet the set targets. Additionally, the provincial minister directed the Secretary Excise to provide written updates on the performance of the officers.

He further added that action will be taken against any Excise Department employee who works without a uniform, and officers who demonstrate commendable performance will be encouraged.

Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that action will be taken against negligent officers in the event of any loss of life due to the consumption of raw liquor.

He further emphasized the importance of ensuring tax collection and completing the targets set by the government. He also stressed the need to inform the public about the tax collection process.

Meanwhile, Senior Minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has strongly condemned PTI for opposing resolutions related to the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Gaza in the National Assembly.

In one of his statements, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon expressed disappointment and condemnation towards PTI’s opposition to the resolution related to Shaheed Zulfiqar Bhutto, who led the country to become a nuclear power.
He emphasized that Shaheed Zulfiqar Bhutto is a benefactor of Pakistan, and his role in ensuring the country’s security is unforgettable.

Sharjeel Inam Memon remarked that when the PTI government came to an end, Israel was also hurt. Now, PTI is becoming loyal to Israel.

He stated that PTI members are protesting against the country even outside the IMF, these actions prove from where PTI’s strings are being pulled.

Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that PTI’s behavior undermines the values of democracy and solidarity with oppressed people worldwide.

He further remarked that PTI appears to have turned a blind eye to the plight of innocent Palestinian citizens who are enduring oppression and violence.

Additionally, PTI has set a dangerous precedent by opposing the resolution on Gaza.
