KP PA strongly condemns terrorists attack on ATI

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Monday strongly condemned terrorists’ attack on Agriculture Training Institute (ATI) and offered Fateha for the victims of the incident.

The incident was raised in the house by Nighat Aurakzai of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on a point of order said that attack on the students is highly sorrowful. She said that she met a student in hospital, who said that he snatched gun from a terrorist and also locked him in a room.

The woman legislator said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has also endorsed the arrest of one militant, but, now the KP government says that the that all terrorists have been killed.

She said that she does not know that why the arrested terrorist was killed adding it was a good opportunity for reaching to the master mind of terrorism.

The Speaker Asad Qaiser, who was presiding over the proceeding said that Nighat Aurakzai is breaking big news on the floor of assembly and asked whether it is really true that the student had locked a terrorist?  Nighat replied with yes and said that it was a question mark by the nation in this regard.

Taking the floor, Syed Jafar Shah of ANP said that terrorism is a serious matter and called for in-camera session. He demanded the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) in letter and spirit.

Parliamentary Leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), Sardar Aurengzed Nalota said that the terrorists are active and targeting educational institutions, schools, mosques. He demanded the constitution of a house committee to probe the incident.

Similarly, Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao of QWP said that elders, children, mothers have sacrificed their lives in the war, but the nation has yet to succeed against the menace of terrorism. He said that law and order situations in Afghanistan has direct affect situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stressed need for unity among all political parties and also called for inquiry into the incident.

The Speaker Asad Qaiser told Sikandar Sherpao to submit a adjournment motion in this regard.

Mufti Said Janan of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUIF) said that it was not only the war of Pakistan Army, police, politicians, clerics but it is the problem of every citizen of Pakistan. He stressed unity against terrorism and paid rich tribute to KP police and Army for their role and sacrifices against terrorism.

Fakhr-e-Azam Wazir of PPP said that KP is in frontline province in war against terrorism and asked federal government for increase in the provision of resources for battling war against terrorism in the province.

Parliamentary Leader of ANP, Sardar Hussain Babak termed terrorism a big drama continued for the last 45 years and should be stopped. He said that the law and order situation of Pakistan and Afghanistan were interlinked with each other.

In response to the debate, the Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi said that the KP government strongly condemns the incident and said that Pakistan Army and KP police have played role to repulse their attack.

He said that four to five terrorists that attacked the institute have been killed all by the forces.

Aizazul Mulk Afkari of Jamat Islami said that the agents of RAW, MOSAD and other intelligence agencies representatives are destabilizing Pakistan.

Senior Minister for Local Government, Inayatullah Khan called upon the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for briefing the members of the house in this regards. He said that the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) was the collective responsibility of federal and provincial governments.
