F.P. Report

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has on Monday said that the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLY) leaders have expressed trust in the report that is to be compiled by Raja Zafarul Haq.

However, the report has not yet been compiled and Raja Zafarul Haq has requested some time to complete it.

Talking to on a private television channel program, Rana Sanaullah said that the TLY leaders had been requested to meet federal law minister Zahid Hamid and listen to his point of view on the issue. As a result, they agreed to meet Zahid Hamid and listen to his side of the version.

“Zahid Hamid was present in the meeting today. They talked with TLY leaders for about 2 hours. The TLY leaders raised all their concerns with Zahid Hamid and in response Hamid explained his position quite well before them”, he said.

Rana Sanaullah said that another meeting might be held tonight or maybe early Tuesday morning. He told that TLY leaders expressed their trust in Raja Zafarul Haq and the report he’d compile but Raja Zafarul Haq has requested some time to prepare this report.

TLY leader Sheikh Azhar Hussain Rizvi was also brought into discussion during the program. He told that TLY stuck with their stated position. “Zahid Hamid told in the meeting that he loved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) and was a Sunni Muslim but we have never questioned his faith. We have only said that this law was forwarded from the law ministry and he failed to check it”, he said.

When asked if TLY demanded resignations from all the members of the assembly who had voted for the amendment, Rizvi said that this depended on the report that Raja Zafarul Haq will produce.
