LAHORE (NNI): Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has called upon the government to withdraw the clause 203 pawing way for the election of a disqualified person as party head, as had been done in the case of the amendment on the issue of the Khatme Nabuwwat.
Addressing the Ijtema of the JI Arakan ( members) from Lahore district Mansoora on Sunday, he also reiterated his demand that the elements behind the conspiracy to amend the oath regarding Khatme Nabuwwat be exposed f or having hurt the sentiment o f the Muslims all over the world. He said that such elements must be thrown out of the government.
Sirajul Haq said the JI was not in favour of early elections. He said that early elections had always benefited the people in power as they got an opportunity to pose themselves as political martyrs. He said that only one political party was demanding early elections while most of the opposition parties were not its favour as they believed that the government should complete its term so that its leadership could not claim that it was not given full time to deliver.
To a question, the JI chief said that the statement of the former Afghan President Hamid Karzai about the US supporting ISIS should not be taken seriously because Hamid Karzai had a key role in spoiling the relations between US and Pakistan.
