ZHOB: In order to address the challenges in education in National Assembly constituency NA-257 comprising three districts – Zhob, Sherani and Killa Saifullah and to present nine-points charter of demand, Action for Welfare & Awakening in Rural Environment organization held a seminar entitled ‘Taleemi Majlis’ at a local hotel here.
Chief Guest of the event was Ex-speaker Balochistan Assembly Haji Jamal Shah Kakar, while provincial minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail presided over the event. Chairman Abdul Sattar Kakar, District Education Officer Sheikh Musa Mandokhail, Deputy DEO Abdul Ghaffar Mandokhail, Team Leader Human Development Foundation Ikram Khan, DPM BRSP Sher Hassan Barozai, PPR Officer Quttab Mandokhail, NCHD representative Sheikh Ashraf Mandokhail, tribal leader Malik Abdul Sattar Mandokhail, Sardar Masam Sherani, president government teachers association Ayoub Mandokhail, social activists, teachers and students in large number attended the event.
Regional Campaign Organizer of AWARE Abid Sherani in his welcome speech said that to curb political interference in educational institutions, ensuring science labs in schools, construction of need-based new school and up-gradation of the existing schools, to promote book reading culture establishment of a public library, construction of technical institution, restoration of school buses for pick and drop, professional trainings for teachers, restoration of district education network at district level and to ensure teachers attendance at school by introducing biometric system are the points of charter of demands.
He demanded of the elected representatives to play their key role to address the prevailing issues in education sector.
Chief guest Jamal Shah Kakar appreciated efforts made by AWARE for the promotion of education in for-flung areas. Minister Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on the occasion said that curbing of political inference in educational intuitions is appreciable step.
The minister said he always discouraged the mal-practice and paid special attention to education in the area. He vowed that his slogan for the upcoming general elections would also be education and announced need-based new schools and technical institution for the constituency.
