MARDAN: Former federal minister and central leader of Pakistan People Party Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti has asked relevant authority of National Accountability Bureau to take action against irregularities and corruption in several mega-projects launch by the incumbent provincial government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti flanked by several other PPP leaders and activists made that demand at a press conference held here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that almost all Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf lawmakers and leaders were involved on large scale embezzlement and irregularities in developmental projects and schemes.
He stressed the relevant officials of National Accountability Bureau to start probes and inquiries in projects including Bus Rapid Transit, Billion-Tree, Recruitment Under-NTS system and several other schemes, they would find a lot of corruption irregularities in it. He alleged that the market price of bio-metric machines installed in educational and health institutions was Rs.13000 but instead its price had been charged and shown as Rs.100000 in government documents.
Hoti claimed that he was also going to file a write in Peshawar High Court against the said embezzlement and corruption in those provincial government projects. He blamed that the PTI members of national and provincial assemblies had openly been selling government posts, adding, that the KPK government had taken unnecessary loans from Asian Development Bank for BRT projects, resulting in increasing burden of loans over every residents of the province. He deplored, on side the PTI chief Imran Khan was holding public meetings in Punjab and Sindh provinces and was leveling charges of corruption over those provincial governments but on the other hand, he was intentionally neglecting cases of corruption in his own provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He demanded of the NAB officials concerned to take action against corruption cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as they had taken in Punjab province.
He predicted that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Party would face an exemplary defeat in the next general elections of 2018. He ironically said that the PTI chief Imran Khan had moved to court against Panama cases but now he was bringing in his party net several such politicians who were allegedly involved in those cases of Panama.
