ACE arrests former PTI MPA from Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has arrested former PTI MPA Nazir Abbasi from Abbottabad, on Thursday.

He is contesting from PK 42 as an independent candidate.

According to sources, the Abbottabad ACE arrested the former PTI member of the provincial assembly, Nazir Abbasi, in the corruption and bogus recruitment cases.

Separately, in Attock, former PTI district president Waheed Murad left his party and joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

He announced his decision to leave the PTI during a press conference on Thursday.

The PML-N candidate for PP 3, Hameed Akbar, and other Nawaz League workers were present on the occasion.

Waheed Murad said that the country is surrounded by problems and it needs Nawaz Sharif at this time. “I am joining the PML-N for the country’s interest and development,” he added.

He said if the projects completed and launched by Nawaz Sharif were removed from Pakistan, nothing would be left.

He said that he would fully support all the candidates of the PML-N in the forthcoming elections.
