Afghanistan protected against Pakistan economic crisis: Official

KABUL (TOLO News): The Ministry of Economics said that the current government is working so that that Afghanistan does not suffer more from the economic problems in Pakistan.

“Every kind of political, economic, and security crisis in the region can affect Afghanistan’s political and economic situation, but management, planning, and policymaking in Afghanistan has caused it to not be affected much by the economic problems of its neighbors, including Pakistan,” said Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy.

Some economists said that the increase of the financial and economic crises in Pakistan will have a negative impact on the development of Afghanistan’s economy.

“Pakistan is in a dire condition and can’t pay the tax that Pakistan borrowed from IMF and it has had a bad impact on Afghanistan,” said Basir Turki, a political analyst.

“Afghanistan is in a humanitarian and economic disaster, Pakistan’s main source of funding is gone,” said Sayed Masoud, an economist.

Some Pakistan analysts said that Pakistan’s request for a loan from the International Monetary Fund did not have the desired result.

“Both sides failed to reach an agreement in this meeting, Pakistan start a negotiation about the recent cause of $1.2 billion with IMF but still Pakistan didn’t accept IMF conditions,” said Tahir Kahn, a Pakistani reporter.

According to the reports of the economic crisis, Pakistan country’s rupee against the US dollar has decreased in an unprecedented manner and the price of goods in this country has also increased.
