MARDAN: The passport office in Mardan has become a punishment for the citizens, the rush at the passport office in the most sensitive area has increased enormously, the rule of the touts the needy citizens have started returning disappointed. People demand to take notice from the higher authorities of the Ministry of Interior.
According to the details, the passport office located in front of the DIG office on Mardan GT Road became crowded as every day thousands of young and old citizens, including women, gather in front of the office early in the morning to get their passports, however, due to the slowness of the staff in the office and the abundance of touts, ordinary citizens are disappointed after failing to obtain their passports.
Also, the only passport office of Mardan district is located in a private building on GT Road, not only the visitors, it is devoid of washrooms, mosque, canteen, shutters and other basic facilities for the citizens, on both sides of the office, touts have piled up and mislead simple citizens and take extra money in the name of admissions. Citizens have strongly demanded the high authorities of the Ministry of Interior to take actions against the officials of Mardan passport office.
As many as 95 family obtained Ramzan package: Save The Life Welfare Foundation Baghdada Mardan distributed Ramazan food packages of Four Hundred and eighty thousand rupees among ninety-five deserving families as part of their Ramazan Package initiative. Each Ramazan Food Package contains 10kg of flour, 5kg Rice, cooking oil of 2 liters, 2kg of Sugar, 1kg of Daal Chana, 1kg of Dates, 1kg basin and half kg of black tea which will be sufficient for a family throughout the holy month of Ramzan.
A special ceremony was held in this regard, which was presided over by the Foundation’s Patron-in-Chief Maulana Abdul Haq, while the Foundation’s Executive Member Fazal Rabbani, Acting President Mansoor Ali Advocate, Chairman NC Baghdada one Ishfaq Ahmad Lodhi, Vice Chairman Malik Muhammad Ilyas, Maulana Jawad Haqqani, Maulana Muhammad Raees Khan, Mufti Asfandiyar Durrani, Haji Ehsanul Haq and volunteers of the foundation were also present.
President of foundation Maulana Ziaur Rehman Farooqi said that a Google form was created within the jurisdiction for the distribution of food package, in which the beneficiaries, orphans and widows of the area were entered and after the verification, 25 widows and orphans were included in the first category while 70 families were included in the second category.
He said that the purpose of distribution of Ramazan food package is to share the happiness of Ramadan with financially weak families. Ziaur Rahman Farooqi stated that in the future scholarships will be given to orphans for better education so that they can get better education with integrity and satisfaction.
