Ajmal says no flour crisis in KP

PESHAWAR: Advisor to chief minister on Information Ajmal Wazir Sunday said that there is no crisis of flour in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa adding that food department at present has 180 thousand  tonnes of wheat stock which will enough till May this year.

Advisor Ajmal Wazir said that special package would be given to the departments and personnel fighting on front line against Corona virus pandemic.

He expressed these views while briefing the media at  Civil Secretariat Information itlla Cell.

He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was taking serious steps to deal with the Corona virus outbreak with the help of the federal government and in this regard distribution of protective equipment was  underway across the province.

He said  271 thousand masks have been distributed by provincial disaster management authority so far in various districts of the province, while 2,000 liters of sanitizers has been distributed free of charge to the general public through civil defense volunteers.

He said that the stock of fifty thousand N 95 masks from NDMA would reach Peshawar by tomorrow.

Advisor further stated that government was enhancing the Corona virus Testing in the province, besides Khyber Medical University, and Hayatabad Medical Complex, private hospital Rehman Medical Institute have also been allowed to conduct corona virus tests adding that

Corona virus testing facilities would also be provided to other districts hospital.

Ajmal Wazir said that strict action would be taken against the illegal stock hoarders and artificial inflation would not be tolerated. In this regard, instructions were given to all divisional commissioners to take strict action against them.

He said that all department and stores would be remained closed except the essential one to stop the outbreak of coronavirus in the province.
