LANDI KOTAL: Anti-polio vaccine will be administered to the children below five years in seven days campaign to be scheduled on Saturday, 02 March, 2024 here across the district Khyber, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Capt. (Retd) Sanaullah said.
In this connection a simple gathering under the chair of DC, Sanaullah was organized in his office, Peshawar on Tuesday that was attended by Additional DC(general)Muhammad Hamid, Dr Ayab Afridi of health department, Representatives of World Health Organization, police and other concerned officials.
The polio official briefed the participants of the polio teams, security, awareness, arrangements and refusal of parents.
Sharing details DC said that approximately 0.223000 million children below five years to be vaccinated in the seven days anti-polio campaign to be carried out across the Khyber.
Almost 945 fixed, transit and mobile teams of vaccinators had been constituted to facilitate the masses at health centers, taxi stands and door to door campaigns.
The polio campaign is scheduled from 02 March, 2024 and will continue till 08 March, 2024 in Khyber besides other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sanaullah urged the parents to feed anti-polio vaccine to their children and assist the health staff to wipe polio virus out of the country.
According to the health department, because of successful anti-polio drives carried out by the health officials with support of other stakeholders, no polio case has been detected in Khyber for the last almost two years.
