ANP asks JI to explain reasons behind decision to quit KP govt

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Provincial Secretary General, Awami National Party (ANP) and Member Provincial Assembly, Sardar Hussain Babak here Thursday asked Jumat e Islami (JI) leadership to explain reasons behind parting ways with PTI Government in closing days besides clearing position whether they would now become part of the Government or in opposition.

“People can’t be mislead on double standard politics as one of the major party in MMA (Mutahida Majlis e Amal) alliance is strongly opposing PTI while another supporting it and such politics would be rejected by masses in 2018 general elections,” he told a press statement issued here on Thursday.

He said using the name of religion for achievement of personal, government and political objectives was very dangerous.

The ANP said open defiance by the members of the treasury benches in KP was outcome of politics of so- called change and questioned how a party that had lost majority in provincial assembly was now claiming to form government in future.

“The people of KP would hold accountable all those elements, who had plundered the provincial kitty and having no enough funds for ongoing projects,” he said, adding people had witnessed pathetic state of affairs such as ill planning, poor performance of the team and vision of the party that had contested last election on slogan of change in the province.

The ANP said unemployment and incidents of kidnapping for ransom had increased manifolds in KP. He said PTI leadership was repeatedly changing its stance on KP budget and asked them to tell people about good news in budget 2018-19.

“The Chief Minister KP had lost majority in KP Assembly after JI’s decision and Imran Khan’s corruption allegations against his own as many as 20 MPAs and he should take fresh vote of confidence from the assembly,” Babak maintained.

The ANP leader said KP Governor was constitutionally bound to ask CM KP to take fresh vote of confidence from KP Assembly after the latter has apparently lost majority in the assembly.

He urged NAB authorities to take notice of mega corruption cases of PTI government and demanded thorough probe of corruption allegations leveled by the provincial ministers and MPAs of the treasury benches against each others.

The ANP leader said Chief Minister KP has started appearance in different corruption cases before NAB KP and expressed the hope that NAB will carry forward accountability process without discrimination in the province.

He demanded Chief Minister KP to explain how many MPAs are supporting him in 122 members in KP Assembly, adding those elements, who are talking about political ethics, were now hesitating from taking confidence vote from KP Assembly.
