ANP condemns withdrawal of Rs6b from Textbook Board

PESHAWAR: ANP Provincial General Secretary Sardar Hussain Babak here Thursday condemned KP government’s decision to withdraw rupees six billion from the kitty of the KP Textbook Board for meeting their lavish expenditures on the cabinet ministers and other unnecessary matters.

In a statement here, he alleged that the PTI government was mulling to utilize the Textbook Board’s assets for their political gains in the elections. He asked as to how much amount the present KP government sanctioned for the Textbook Board.

Babak said that withdrawal of money from Textbook Board was also a question mark on education emergency plan of the provincial government. He said these amounts were for the printing of KG to FA text books, establishment charges, pension and salaries of the employees and future planning of the board.

The ANP leader feared that the withdrawal of money would put the future of students of the government schools at stake due to non-availability of the books being provided free-of-cost.

He said that Peshawar Metro Project was not needed for the province and held it wastage of money and time. The road and traffic infrastructure could have been made more effective and strengthen by developing the existing roads.
