DUBAI: Chasing a total of 184, Sri Lanka held their nerves to reach the target in 19.2 overs against Bangladesh and qualified for Super 4 at the Asia Cup.

Sri Lanka’s chase was boosted by opener Kusal Mendis’ 37-ball 60 and skipper Dasin Shanaka’s 33-ball 45 as they did not let pressure get the better of them.

Earlier, Bangladesh managed to post a total of 183 for seven. Afif Hossain (39) stitched a 57-run partnership with Mahmudullah after Bangladesh were reeling at 87 for four.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (38) had earlier given Bangladesh a flying start, despite wickets falling at the other end. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl. Both the teams faced a defeat against Afghanistan in their opening clash.
