LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore on Thursday extended the judicial remand of senior PML-N leader and former defence minister Khawaja Asif.

The PML-N leader was presented before the accountability court which extended his judicial remand till 6th of May in assets beyond means case.

The NAB has arrested Kh Asif in December 2020 in a case filed against him by PM’s special assistant on youth affairs Usman Dar. The former defence minister had failed to declare the source of Rs220 million he got from Dubai.  After the hearing, Javed Hashmi, a former PML-N leader, met Kh Asif outside the court on Thursday.

When he tried to embrace and shake hands with the latter, the security officials stopped him from doing so due to coronavirus SOPs.
