Bar refuses to plead sexual abuse offender case

MANSEHRA: Mansehra Bar Council (MBC) Tuesday refused to plead the case of sexual abuse of Qari Shams and said that if he would be cleared in remand period then the lawyers would defend him in the court of law.

This was stated by the president of MBC Amir Khan while talking to media here Tuesday. Civil Judge Mansehra granted 5 days physical remand of Qari Shams who was the prime suspect of 10 years old child sexual assault case as he surrendered himself and police presented him before the court two days ago.

Mansehra police has also collected the personal belongings of the victim child Yahoos son of Abdul Qudous resident of Kolai Palis Kohistan from the Madrassa Taleem ul Quran Parhanna Manshera for further investigation. Although the medical report of Yahoos has confirmed the rape but sources told media that police have decided to take DNA test for authenticity.

On the other hand Ulema Action Committee Manshera has constituted a 3 members committee to probe the sexual abuse of the child. They also demanded to stop the defamation campaign of ulema and Madrassas on print, electronic, social media and reopen the Madrassa Taleem ul Quran.

Ulema of Mansehra also shown sympathy with the victim child and his family, they said that we want a clean and transparent investigation of Yahoos sexual abuse and punish the accused according to the law.

They further said that under the influence of media government and masses should not take any action against the religious institutions that are serving the people and helping for the improvement of literacy rate in the country.
