Bara Sayasi Ittehad flay FIRs, filed against its leaders

BARA: To disapprove lodging of First Information Report against local political leadership and conducting raids on their houses, a protest of Sayasi Ittehad (Political Alliance) Bara was held here on Sunday.
It is to be mentioned here that the district administration filed FIRs, nominated four local leaders including Khan Wali, Malik Naseer, Hussain Ahmad and Abdul Ghani speaking against the State departments in last week’s peace gathering in Tirah Valley, Bagh.
Large number of protesters took the rally from Minar Mosques to Khyber Square where it was converted into a public gathering.
Addressing on the occasion Political Alliance, Bara chief Shah Faisal Afridi, Haji Shereen Afridi of Awami National Party, representative of Khyber Union, Zahidullah, Jamat-e-Islami, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa youth wing President Shah Jehan Afridi, local leader of Pakistan Tehreeke Insaf Abid Afridi, Sadeeq Cherag Afridi and others categorically condemned the government for lodging FIR against leaders of the Sayasi Ittehad and said it was equivalent to impose ban on the basic right of expression.
The government utilized unfair means to suppress them but they would accept any pressure and would echo their voice for restoration of peace in Khyber, they opined.
“We are not against the State or any department of the State however we want durable peace in our area,” they remarked.
They demanded to forthwith withdraw FIRs filed against the local political elites who only committed crime while raising voice for peace on behalf of tribesmen.
The participants who carried banner inscribed with statements in favor of their demands, shouted slogans against the government and dispersed peacefully.
