Belarus uprising and Russian recipes

The Russian security chief Nikolai Patrushev said that the goal of external forces is regime change in Belarus. He said he had exchanged opinions and impressions with the Belarusian president on security issues. He noted, “our assessments are not just close, they fully coincide. Beyond a doubt, we (Russia and Belarus) are uniting, and will be uniting our efforts, and will act jointly against these challenges and threats”. Mr. Nikolai was on a tour to Minsk to assist Belarusian authorities to deal with their political rivals.

Belarus and Russia have very cordial relations nowadays and alignment of interests and security prospects further brought the two nations closer to each other. Both Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko are equally busting on their political rivals and pro-west dissidents in their countries. Both countries have close cooperation in the Security domain and mostly originate coordinated efforts against their adversaries. According to reports, the meeting of Russian top security echelon Nikolai Patrushev with President Lukashenko was aimed at conceiving a combined strategy in the backdrop of current security challenges to both countries. Patrushev told Lukashenko to pay attention toward the activities of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). According to him, these organizations must answer about their sources of funding, utilization and their objectives for which NGOs are working in the Belarus. Patrushev suggested that law-enforcement agencies and security services of the two countries should exchange information to achieve better results against their common enemy. There is a huge public uprising against President Lukashenko after last year’s election in the country. Belarusian government had placed a strict ban on travel abroad of their citizens/ opponents by taking shelter from the Coronavirus pandemic in Belarus. After the forced arrest of a Belarusian dissident Roman Protasevich and his girlfriend in the wake of planned diversion of Ryanair flight a month ago. The tremendous international pressure has been built on Belarus government during recent days. The recipes told by the Russian Security Chief are the proven treatment of Lukashenko’s ailment, which he got after touching the Presidential Chair about a year ago. However, no one else could rescue him better than Putin, who has over two decades extensive experience in the chair.
