Can Anti-Corruption Estt knows about safe-haven for assets building: PHC

PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising of Justice Rooh-ul-Amin and Justice Ijaz Anwar has reinstated Bail before Arrest of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Member Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Thursday.

During hearing Justice Rooh-ul-Amin remarked that is Anti-Corruption Establishment shall take actions against growth in assets and added that we aware about places where assets had created while observed that victimization of one person is not fair on political differences.

The counsel Mian Zakir Hussain Advocate argued that inquiry has been initiated against petitioner without prior notice while added that MPA Jamsheed Mohmand belong to opposition party and it is carried out for political victimization.

The counsel added that Anti-Corruption did not filed charge sheet against Jamsheed Mohmand but it is initiated to harass the opposition MPA at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly while the petitioner had approached PHC to obtain BBA.

The counsel informed that on last hearing the petitioner was reached late to court due to traffic issue and senior counsel was present before Supreme Court while PHC has withdrew BBA and added that Jamsheed Mohmand is willing to cooperate with Anti-corruption.

The counsel requested PHC to restore BBA of MPA because Jamsheed Mohmand is fearing that Anti-corruption will arrest him on his appearance while Additional Advocate General along with Investigation Officer appeared before court.

Justice Rooh-ul-Amin inquired from Investigation Officer regarding grounds for summoning people while IO argued that Member of Provincial Assembly has called for building assets beyond known resources, however Justice Rooh-ul-Amin remarked that did you know regarding creation and location of assets and what actions have been taken against them while restored BBA of MPA Jamsheed Mohmand and directed to cooperate with Anti-corruption establishment.
