Chairman NAB orders enquiry against Baluchistan’s Minister

ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Justice Javed Iqbal has ordered Director General (DG) NAB Baluchistan to start probe against Baluchistan’s Minister for Forests Obaid Jan Babat for allegedly making more assets than his income.

According to reports, Babat has purchased property in Dubai, two bungalows in Multan & one in Quetta, property in Karachi worthy of 130 million rupees and a petrol pump in Dera Ghazi Khan worthy of 75 million rupees.

Justice Javed Iqbal also taking notice of illegal occupation of 2500 acres land of forest department by former Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali, Sohail Jamali and others ordered enquiry along with cultivation of agricultural land illegally in District Sajawal of Sindh province in connivance with officers of Revenue department.

Chairman NAB has also ordered enquiry against secretary health Sindh as during his service at Education department he allegedly misused his power, transferred/posted his blue eyed in violation of law and allotted tenders for purchase of substandard medicines.

Chairman NAB specifically ordered DG NAB Baluchistan to start enquiry against Additional IG Baluchistan, Dr. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman over making assets beyond income, alleged corruption in funds especially lavishly spending the fund for maintenance of vehicles and petrol.
