CM apprises NCC about opening Phase-II of construction industry

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, through a video link attended a meeting of National Coordination Committee (NCC).

Besides relevant federal Ministers and relevant civil and military high ups, Chief Ministers of all other provinces and Gilgit Baltistan and Prime Minister Azad Jammu & Kashmir also attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed various matters and suggestions/recommendations of all the provincial governments regarding relaxation in lockdown after 9th of May.

The meeting reviewed the latest corona situation across the country and impacts of the lockdown on economic activities with special focus on the financial issues faced by the vulnerable segments of the society.

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan appraised the forum that the provincial government intended to open up Phase-II of the construction industry and its allied business, Intra City Public Transport and isolated shops essential with regard to Ramzan and the upcoming Eid with specific timings subject to the implementation of strict SoPs.

He further informed the meeting that the provincial government would carry out consultations with the Transporters for devising a strategy to open Inter District Transport. The meeting decided to conditionally open all those shops and businesses from the coming Saturday on which all the Federating Units were agreed.

The meeting decided to keep all education institution closed up to 15th June, to cancel all types of board examinations for the current year and to promote the students to next grades on the basis of their last year results.

Due to reservations of some of the federating units on opening the Inter Provincial Public Transport, it was decided to hold further consultations on the issue.

It was unanimously agreed in the meeting to keep tourist points, public parks, sports activities, public gatherings, weddings and other social activities closed till further orders.
