CM to open Swat Motorway on May 15

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak would inaugurate Swat Motorway from Kernal Sher Khan Interchange Swabi to Katlang Interchange on May 15 and to be opened for traffic.

It was decided in a meeting held here at Chief Minister House to review progress on various development projects being executed by FWO.

The meeting was informed about progress on Swat motorway being constructed by the provincial government from its’ own resources. It was told that work on Swat motorway from Kernal Sher Khan Interchange Swabi to Katlang Interchange would be completed by May and to be ready for traffic, however it was told that due to encroachment on both sides of Nowshera bridge the work could be affected.

The meeting decided to open this section of Swat motorway by May 15 this year, while work on rest of the parts of the project would be expedited.

The Chief Minister directed Deputy Commissioner to remove encroachment on both side of the project so that the construction work might not hinder. He further directed to construct footpaths on both side of the road.

The CM was briefed about Nowshera Medical College, Regi Model Town, CPEC City Nowshera and issued on spot directives.

The meeting was attended by KP Law Minister Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi, Director FWO Deputy Commissioner Nowshera and other relevant authorities.
