ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa is briefing the senate lawmakers regarding the national security matters on Tuesday and the senate session is underway.
Earlier, COAS Bajwa reached the parliament house accompanied by DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor, DG ISI Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar and DG Military Operations Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.
Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani is chairing the committee session.
As per the notification issued, the COAS and DGMO would brief members on the emerging national security situation in the recent developments and its impact on Pakistan.
A Question & Answer session would also be held at the conclusion of the session and the COAS is also expected to brief the members regarding the Islamic Military Alliance.
The in-camera senate session is underway.
