Coronavirus claims 120 more lives in Pakistan in a day

ISLAMABAD: Another 120 people died and 4,191 were infected by coronavirus throughout Pakistan during the last 24 hours (Friday), showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Saturday morning.

As per the NCOC figures, after the addition of 120 new deaths, the overall toll has now surged to 25,535 whereas the number of total infections now stood at 1,148,532 after adding the fresh 4,191 cases.

During the last 24 hours (Friday), a total of 61,306 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio stood at 6.83 percent.

During the last 24 hours (Saturday), as many as 3,848 patients have recovered from the virus whereas the total recoveries stood at 1,029,930. As of Saturday, the total count of active cases in the country was recorded at 93,107.

As many as 428,254 coronavirus cases have so far been confirmed in Sindh, 388,296 in Punjab, 160,088 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 98,339 in Islamabad, 32,111 in Balochistan, 31,649 in Azad Kashmir and 9,835 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Moreover, 11,759 individuals have lost their lives to the pandemic in Punjab so far, 6,803 in Sindh, 4,909 in KP, 861 in Islamabad, 693 in Azad Kashmir, 338 in Balochistan and 172 in Gilgit Baltistan.
