MUMBAI: Salman Khan’s hit film Kick will soon have a sequel. And while Salman will continue to play the lead, the hunt is on for an actress. Going by the reports, it seems the makers are keen to cast Deepika Padukone opposite Salman in the sequel. A pairing that is never seen before.
Earlier, reports had suggested that Jacqueline Fernandez, who had played the female lead opposite Salman in Kick, won’t be seen in its sequel. In fact, Deepika was the first choice even for Kick, back then, but things didn’t materialise and Jacqueline was cast instead. Now that the filmmakers are aiming at casting a fresh pair, they have Deepika in mind.
Reportedly, it is said that Deepika can’t play just a typical Salman heroine. Her role has to be as powerful as Salman’s. Sajid Nadiadwala, the director is working on it, making the female lead as strong.
There have been rumours earlier as well regarding Salman-Deepika being cast together, alas, they proved to be just rumours. We hope this time around; the case is different. If these reports are to be believed, Kick 2 will with Salman-Deepika will definitely be something to look forward to.
In one of his earlier interviews, Salman had joked casually that even he was wondering when will he work with Deepika. Well, Kick 2 just might be the answer to that question.
Meanwhile, Deepika who attended the MET Gala in New York yesterday will be back in the city to resume work on Chhapaak. Salman Khan is busy with the promotions of his upcoming film Bharat with Katrina Kaif which will release on June 5, 2019.
