DEMP, QMMB organize event on ‘Kashmir Day with educational artwork

Karachi: Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications (DEMP) in collaboration with Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Board (QMMB) commemorated the Kashmir Day.

The ceremony was organized in accordance with Kashmir Day at Quaid e Azam Mazar, Karachi on 2nd February. Director General Press Information Department Ms. Erum Tanveer honored as Chief Guest.

The intra-school art competition programme was meant to show solidarity with Kashmir and its people struggle for freedom.

Different child students participated in the art work competition where they showcased their thoughts in support of occupied Kashmiri people under Indian oppression. In her address, Chief Guest Ms. Erum Tanveer praised the commemorations of such events and also lauded the hardships of DEMP & QMMB to arrange such influential events. She remarked that by celebrating this day, young kids had the idea that what was happening in Kashmir.

While talking at the event Ms. Erum told the participants that Kashmir issue resolution had been passed in UN and this issue had to be resolved according to it. She highlighted that until today the issue was remain unsolved because we lowered our voices in favor of Kashmir freedom. She pointed out that our seniors didn’t connect the youngsters in connection to their history.

Ms. Erum stressed that youth must be engaged in these issues because they were the future of this country. She also shared her pleasure to talk with young kids as they were always energetic. She also said that state had the prime responsibility to ensure engagements of young minds into national affairs.

Deputy Director DEMP Ms. Mehreen hosted the ceremony and briefed the Chief Guest about students’ work. Chief Guest visited the art work displays and appreciated the efforts of all students.

Chief Guest distributed the award certificates to top three students. Meanwhile, Chief Guest Ms. Erum Tanveer presented with a shield by Resident Engineer Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Abdul Aleem Shaikh.

DD DEMP Ms.Mehreen said that celebrating Kashmir Day was a national duty and to teach upcoming generation about the hardships of Kashmiri people.

Secretary QMMB Resident Engineer Abdul Aleem Shaikh shared his views that this competition opportunity was to enhance children’s ability to understand Kashmir issue and encouraged students for their hard-work.
