DPOs, CPOs to be terminated if quarantined patients escape: IG Punjab

F.P. Report

LAHORE: Inspector General (IG) Punjab Shoaib Dastagir has announced that in case anyone escapes from a quarantine center, the concerned District Police Officer (DPO) and City Police officer (CPO) will be held responsible and terminated from service.

In a notification released by IG Punjab, it has been announced that these recommendations of strict action will be sent to Establishment decision for approval. All officers have been instructed to submit daily reports to respective Regional Police Officers (RPO) and IG Punjab.

On the other hand, Punjab government has sent recommendation to National Coordination Committee (NCC) to extend lockdown by one more week to curb the spread of the virus.

However, final decision will be made after consultation and approval of the federal government.

Punjab government has sought a selective lockdown in the extension recommendation after the original lockdown ends on April 14.
