Ex-Premier Imran Khan seeks Shehbaz apology, CEC resignation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan Saturday requested the Supreme Court of Pakistan to hold an open hearing on the issue of a ‘threatening letter’.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, the former premier said the SC has to do now what it was needed to do before, adding that SC was needed to investigate the matter when the deputy speaker had given his ruling.

The former premier said that with the investigation into the matter, it would be clear that who visited the foreign consulates. Imran said the National Security Committee admitted the cipher message was original.

Imran said that PM Shehbaz Sharif had said that if the conspiracy will be proved, he would stand by his side, adding that Shehbaz does not need to stand by his side, but should apologize to him.

Imran Khan said that in the country’s history, such threats were received by Bhutto and Pervez Musharraf

The former premier said that the threat was given if the ouster of Imran Khan would not happen, Pakistan will face difficulties.

He said that NSC has made the confirmation of his stance over the letter, adding that it has been confirmed that intervention was done.

Imran Khan levelled allegations against the former premier and PML-N supremo, Nawaz Sharif, over the conspiracy and said that the game of conspiracy was started in London.

Imran claimed the one who was sitting in London, was part of this conspiracy, adding that he came to know how many of the people, Nawaz Sharif held meetings. PTI Chairman also claimed that from Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari were part of the conspiracy against him.

Imran said both Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz are on bail. The former premier said that PML-N has to find nobody else, but father and son, adding that on the other side the opposition has left Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Imran lambasted PML-N and PPP, adding that for 20 years, both the parties have levelled allegations against each other.

PTI Chairman said that in the letter it was said with an arrogance that it will be forgiven after Imran Khan’s ouster.

Imran Khan claimed that during his tenure, it happened after 11 years that the country was suffering from the lowest deficit and witnessed record exports, adding that country’s five crops witnessed record production in PTI’s tenure.

Imran Khan claimed that the foreign force knew that who will take over the office of Prime Minister after him.

The former premier said that Overseas Pakistanis have remitted $31billion, adding that they are the biggest assets of the country.

Imran Khan claimed the premier of the country was blackmailed.

Imran Khan asked that the Chief Election Commissioner to tender his resignation, adding that if the action against him would not be taken, then the doors of sell and purchase of conscience will be opened.

The former premier alleged that the decisions of Chief Election Commissioner are based on favoritism, adding that the Election Commissioner could never become umpire. He asked for installing voting machines for fair and free elections.

Imran Khan asked the government to put his name on Exit Control List, adding that he has no desire of heading abroad.

PTI Chairman directed the workers to stage preparations for the party’s march in Islamabad, adding that for real independence he will give his call to the masses.
